Add Earthquakes to FSR Natural Disaster Threats

Most Finesilver Ranch residents know the drill when it comes to severe weather preparedness. Since at least one FSR resident was awakened by the early Monday morning temblor, 7 April, perhaps it's time to consider earthquake preparedness too.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency website provides tips on what to do before, during, and after an earthquake.

Also, the US Geological Survey invites observations at this "Did you feel it?" link,

As of this post, at least five individuals in the 78254 ZIP reported "light shaking" with no damage.

Minor as it was, the Express News reports earthquakes are not unheard of in Texas. The 3.7 magnitude quake was one of at least eight since 1983 to occur within a 50-mile radius of this one, Southeast of San Antonio. "The most recent earthquake was in 2000 and the strongest registered 4.3."
