Starting 3 May, the pool is open noon to 8:00 PM weekends plus Memorial Day. Please review this year’s “Swimming Pool Rules & Guidelines,” which you received with your pool tag, for summer hours and other important information. Here are some highlights from that booklet:
The safety and enjoyment of the members of the community are of primary concern in the operation of our pool at Finesilver Ranch. If we show courtesy and consideration for others in our use of the pool and cooperate with the lifeguards in their daily management of the pool, only a minimum of rules and guidelines should be needed.
Lifeguard(s) will be on duty and in charge of the pool area when it is open. We appreciate your cooperation with the lifeguards’ directives or requests regarding safety. Please abide by the rules and guidelines, and curtail any activity that interferes with the swimming enjoyment of others. The lifeguards have the authority to make all decisions regarding the closing of the pool.
The following list may appear severe, but be assured these rules promote safety and enjoyment for all.
No alcoholic beverages
No smoking
No glass and other breakables
No pets
No music after 10:00 PM
No communicable diseases, open cuts, sores
No running, rough play, excessive splashing
No diving
See the “Swimming Pool Rules & Guidelines” for a complete list plus information on neighborhood and private parties and qualifications for resident and guest use.

Motor Vehicles Prohibited in FSR Park and Greenbelts
Discussions with city officials confirmed the operation of motor vehicles on greenbelts within the City of San Antonio is prohibited. This includes motorcycles and ATVs. Further, since statutes prohibit the operation of motor vehicles off of designated roadways, it follows that the operation of such vehicles within the park at Finesilver Ranch is also unlawful.
For residents' peace, quiet, and safety please call the SAPD non-emergency line, 207-7273, when these violations are observed.

Add Earthquakes to FSR Natural Disaster Threats
Most Finesilver Ranch residents know the drill when it comes to severe weather preparedness. Since at least one FSR resident was awakened by the early Monday morning temblor, 7 April, perhaps it's time to consider earthquake preparedness too.

As of this post, at least five individuals in the 78254 ZIP reported "light shaking" with no damage.
Minor as it was, the Express News reports earthquakes are not unheard of in Texas. The 3.7 magnitude quake was one of at least eight since 1983 to occur within a 50-mile radius of this one, Southeast of San Antonio. "The most recent earthquake was in 2000 and the strongest registered 4.3."
